  • Confidence around capital gains has reduced in the last 12 months from 47% in Q3 2015 to 41% in Q3 2016
  • Perceived tenant demand has increased slightly since Q2 2016 and is strongest in SE England, weakest in the North East
  • 33% of landlords see the Brexit vote as negative for the PRS. 10% think it will be positive
  • 27% think Brexit will be detrimental to their own lettings prospects. 6% think it will be positive
  • 23% plan to buy a property in the next 12 months (up 6% on Q2)
  • 64% believe last year’s Government Budget announcements will decrease their profitability
  • 12% of landlords are likely to sell property in the next 12 months, down from 15% in Q3 2015
  • 7.7 properties are in the average portfolio (biggest portfolios in the North + Wales, smallest in London)
  • 71% of landlords have at least 1 BTL mortgage, with an average of 6.1 BTL loans held
  • 10% of landlords have purchased property in the last quarter, buying an average of 1.8 properties
